FINAL BLOG):

Im sad too mr. burns):

its okay life will go on.
you have mr. keolien. lol

My favorite topic was when we were talking about Lincoln's assassination, it was amusing, cuz of all the fun we have in your class, everyone laughs, and makes jokes, and it makes it fun. Lincoln's assassination was at fords theatre and that was interesting to read about

The least interesting topic was when we were learning about the immigrants, it didnt catch my attention, and i didnt really understand.
We could have read aloud an article on it.

No, i liked the projects we did.
I specifically liked the recent one, with the articles, i wish we would've done that more.

Your class was fun, maybe it was you, or our 6th hour students, or both. but i loved this class im glad i have you next semester!

the USS Indianapolis

I didn't gett to go 4th hour like the permission slip said to, but 5th hour i have media and everyone was so interested in him! (: he was so awsome, and interesting, it was weird hearing how much they got paid, its not a lot at all. then when he was talking about him being in the ocean for like 3 nights it made me realize how good my life is. and how good i have it, i would not survive 3 nights in the ocean, he was a very good speaker, and very interesting.

Poets in WWI

1.)
"How to Die"

Dark clouds are smouldering into red
While down the craters morning burns.
The dying soldier shifts his head
To watch the glory that returns;
He lifts his fingers toward the skies
Where holy brightness breaks in flame;
Radiance reflected in his eyes,
And on his lips a whispered name.

You'd think, to hear some people talk,
That lads go West with sobs and curses,
And sullen faces white as chalk,
Hankering for wreaths and tombs and hearses.
But they've been taught the way to do it
Like Christian soldiers; not with haste
And shuddering groans; but passing through it
With due regard for decent taste.

2.) This poem has a lot to do with the war, its talking a lot about pain, without saying the actual word, i like that, also, its talking about "funerals/people dying" It also explains how the men soldiers go off into war, and the woman [lads] are crying and cursing, because they know that there is a big chance their man wont come back. The way the man wrote this is very descriptive, but you have to have common sense to understand it.

3.) Biograpy on Siegfried Sassoon-
Sassoon was born September, 8th, 1886, and he died in 1967. He became an English Poet, "He became known as a writer of satirical anti-war verse during World War I. He later won acclaim for his prose work, notably his three-volume fictionalized autobiography, collectively known as the "Sherston Trilogy"." Sassoon was born at Weirleigh hospital. His father, Alfred Ezra Sassoon (1861-1895) "came from the wealthy Indian Baghdadi Jewish Sassoon merchant family but was disinherited for marrying outside the faith. His mother, Theresa, belonged to the Thorny-croft family, sculptors responsible for many of the best-known statues in London"

The movie event of the Millenium

I chose this song, because its explaining not to give up hope, things will get better, and in the end of the movie we just saw, all the soldiers were singing for hope, letting the other guy (im guessing the lutenent) know that they believe in hope.
WWI is harsh, these people have families. They need hope. Another reason i chose this song.. is because when my grandma was in the hospitol for cancer, she asked me to get her an mp3 player and put one song on there. So we ended up getting her one, and i put this song: Don't stop believin' by journey, and she asked me to put it on repeat so i did and she listened to it over and over again, she said it brought her positive thinking. she died 3 months later than the doctor told her she would.
